I experienced some pretty deep challenges from a very young age, but at one point, I clearly saw that every single thing that had ever happened in my life was a gift…and I do mean everything. Understandably, this isn’t always apparent on the surface; it’s something that must be spiritually discerned with a different kind of seeing than limited human understanding. To human sense, “bad” experiences look nothing like gifts, and if they are, they are ones we’d like to regift.
It’s like looking at a very, very, very large puzzle. If I take one piece of that puzzle and look at it separate from the whole, it doesn’t make any sense. When I rise high enough above the puzzle, I can see how that seeming, nonsensical (sometimes scary looking) piece fits perfectly into that puzzle, forming an inexplicably beautiful picture.
Each and every thing offers a gift that, when we use it for the purpose of gaining a clearer understanding of what we are, and what everything is in Truth, acts as an elevator…an elevator that lifts us up so we can see that all these pieces fit together, and what they really mean.
As it’s often been said: Nothing is happening to you; everything is happening for you.
