Peace is a choice. I’m in no way suggesting to stuff down resentments or to be afraid of them, but it is important to get very clear that we can’t hold on to them AND have peace.

We often stay in our cramped, long-outgrown little nest, thinking this is where we are safe. But as we grow, that place that may have seemed comfortable at one point becomes painful.
“But if I jump, nothing will hold me up! I see no safe foundation! Just air! How will I survive? No! No! I’m staying put.”
So we continue to grow, and the little nest becomes more and more uncomfortable until it becomes more painful than the pesky fear of letting go…and so we jump.
But instead of plummeting to the ground, we float gracefully in the open sky. We’re overcome with joy to discover that we had wings all along.

I’m so happy that September is finally here! The house we’ve been building in Napa Valley has finally been completed, so we’ve been spending more time here. It doesn’t feel like September here, but the views from my new studio are so lovely.
Having faith that everything will be okay isn’t based on wishcraft; it’s based on spiritual principles. I know that appearances often don’t attest to this truth, but (more…)

One of the first things that often happens as we begin to truly awaken spiritually is that our “comfort zones” become, well, uncomfortable. This is when we usually think all hell has broken loose and everything is falling apart.
Although they are familiar, comfort zones (more…)

Spiritual deep-diving isn’t for the faint of heart. I’ve had too many profound and wonderful experiences to count, but it can also be very challenging at times.
I’ve had several of what could be referred to as dark nights of the soul. One period I passed through, in particular, I can only describe as so dark that I would have never thought one could walk through such a thing and live to tell about it. (If you are walking through your own dark night, I will tell you that you will come through, and it will be brighter on the other side than you can imagine.)
During that particularly dark, dark night, I began (more…)
