What if someone told you that you’re covered in chicken feathers? Would you freak out and immediately begin plucking? Or would you go about your business because you know how ridiculous such a suggestion would be? And would it matter how much the person might seem to believe it’s true or how often they say it?
We would only feel upset by this if we believed it was true. Nothing would have the power to make us believe this without our agreement in some measure. The key is and always has been in our own hands.
So, no matter how loudly, how often, or how long voices have suggested we are not worthy and precious, this same key is in our hands, and it is our choice to believe this or not.
If we hear any suggestions that we aren’t worthy, coming from an outer or inner voice, we can say, “Oh, that’s the same as if someone were to suggest I’m covered in chicken feathers. What the cluck! That’s just crazy talk,” and pluck it right out.
Happy plucking!
As a side note, ideas like this might be viewed as “easier said than done,” but I would invite you to question this. Is it easier to believe we are unworthy? I would posit that it’s much, much harder.

I once heard it said that what others say/feel about you is none of your business. Works for me!

This came at a much needed time – God is shining his light through you to others – thank you and praise God for his many blessings.

I’d be more likely to be covered in dog hair than chicken feathers.
