I had deep feelings of despair from a very young age. I looked everywhere, and in everything that the world says we can find happiness and fulfillment, but it always ended up like sand in my hand, leaving me with a deeper sense of emptiness.
I found an indescribable sense of peace only after I began to look within. The emptiness I felt wasn’t some flaw in my makeup or some personal failure; I was seeking outside of myself for what can only be found within. We all do this…until we don’t.
I realized that nobody and nothing could have ever given me what I was searching for because it was within me all along. I had just been looking in the wrong place.
In an instant, I released everyone and everything from the expectations I had chained them to. Not only could they not give me what I longed for, but they also didn’t need to, and all the many “failures” were what led me to where I finally found it.
There is a light within you, but you must look to where it is in order to find it.
