The highest prayer that I have experienced is the song of thanks. This prayer asks for nothing in the realization that all has already been given. Words fail to describe the experience, but it’s not gratitude for things but a profound sense of fullness, completion, and joy.
I didn’t start here; it took a long time to learn this way of praying. At first, I gave thanks for anything and everything I could think of as often as I thought to do it. I then moved to giving thanks for what must be true according to spiritual principles, even when I seemed to be experiencing their opposite.
When I felt alone, I gave thanks that I could never be alone because “You are always with me.” When I needed money, I gave thanks that all my needs were always cared for, even though this didn’t seem true. I learned to look to and give thanks for what must be true rather than what appeared to be true.
I didn’t put my head in the sand about what I was experiencing but recognized that just because I was experiencing something, this didn’t make true. The sun seems to get swallowed by the ocean at night, but we know it continues to shine even though we aren’t experiencing its warmth. The trees appear to be dead in the winter, but they aren’t. Many things we see in life appear one way, but we know better; we don’t pull over and “pray” for the road to widen in the distance.
Giving thanks can help open our eyes to what has always been. You and I and all are loved beyond comprehension…right here and now, and are infinitely cared for in all ways.
Thank you.

Gratitude for the beauty and trials of this life grant us wisdom and humility. All that we are…our very lives…we have because God loved us enough to give it to us. Just like you, I fall short in remembering this sometimes, but I accept I am a work in progress. I am eternally grateful for truth that shines so brightly when we have the humility to seek it. ❤

Oh my! I am touched by your beautiful words and the energy that is ours when we are truly grateful for all we have or for anything, no matter how large or small. I am grateful for your the picture of your little dog who reminds me of our little Copper that we had 29 years ago. And yes, we are never alone. ❤️❤️❤️
