Be kind to yourself. How do we do that? Sometimes, it seems easier to be kind to everyone but ourselves.
One way to bring yourself into the kindness fold is to imagine yourself as someone you love. We all have certain individuals who pull our heartstrings. Maybe it’s your child, a parent or sibling. It can even be a beloved pet. (And it doesn’t matter if they seem to have passed on.)
Whenever you find yourself being unkind to yourself, ask yourself if you would say, do, or think this about that individual you deeply love. You don’t have to feel guilty; it’s just important to question it. That’s all. Just be willing to question it.
Also, do this If you notice that you’re being hard on yourself, expecting too much, and putting a lot of pressure on yourself. Just ask yourself, “Would I do this to _______? Would I want to do to _______ what I am doing to myself right now?” (Insert the name of someone you dearly love.)

After a very traumatic week, I’m letting go of the baggage of the past and learning how to be kind to myself again. Thank you for such a beautiful picture. I shared it on Facebook. 🙂

I just wrote in my journal before reading your posting that I’m a good friend to others but not myself. Thank you for your beautiful pictures and heartfelt posts.
