Over the years, I’ve seen a lot of all-caps and exclamation points preaching about various spiritual and religious beliefs. Often in an angry tone, particularly when the word or words they use to point to something isn’t being used. I’ve never understood any of this, to be honest.
Words, words, words…little tiny symbols strung together to form more symbols that point to something. Words are not the things they point to; a butterfly is not made a butterfly by the word “butterfly.”
If I say the word “butterfly,” you might immediately imagine a Monarch, one you saw in childhood, a painting, the symbol of transformation, or a thousand different things. That word will most likely point to something different to you than me.
But if we sit together and behold as the butterfly emerges from her chrysalis and takes flight, we have experienced the joy of the butterfly together…no words…just the joy of beholding a life transformed.
Where we see a transformation, we see hope, and when we see hope justified, our minds open even the tiniest crack. Where there’s a crack, the Light of transformation automatically streams into our own minds and lives. There are no words big enough to touch this Light.
The best service we can ever render is to be an example of a life transformed. This will shout from the rooftops, and although words might still be used, it will be the Light behind the words that is heard and felt.

I, too, have seen posts where I felt “shouting” was not really doing them any favors on their concern. So I am not disagreeing. I think it can be shortsighted if we look at the appearance of someone or their storyline for affirmation of what truths they offer us to consider.
Struggle is what our lifetimes are built on and have been for eons. The Course in Miracles suggests that only a filling up of struggle or having reached our limit will allow us to turn to the Creator for relief. That can look pretty ugly, to be honest. But it does not mean that the Creator does not have the answers for us. Only that we have a ways to go to undo the misguided beliefs that we have given ourselves and it might take a lifetime or two to undo those habitual traits.
I have to admit that I use capitals at times.
Here is an example, it comes from something I feel strongly about at this time, obviously.:
The “RIGHT” that we want to let go of is our innate and ingrained desire to see punishment and restitution on anyone or anything.
IF CORRECTION IS NEEDED, let it be EDUCATION. LET IT BE INSPIRATION. LET IT BRING FORTH THAT WHICH IS VIRTUOUS and WORTHY in whoever we are interacting with.
Let us GIVE THANKS in ALL THINGS.
The EGO MIND will not be released by not sharing what is going on. Somewhere, somehow. It has to get out to the united consciousness. (*To be corrected, as well as be forgiven and released.)
>>>
I understand the need of calm and faith in that which is greater than ourselves unitedly or at least equal to ourselves Unitedly.
At the same time, I think to force ourselves into any type of box or behavior that does not allow the guidance of the Spirit within to be made manifest, however it wants to show itself, is an injustice to our authentic selves and all that is.

Hi Debra,
I’m glad you find PSP helpful.
I use all-caps to indicate emphasis as well, particularly when italics aren’t available. The kind of all-caps and exclamation points I’m referring to is when someone uses a word that isn’t the word used in a particular religion belief system, and someone “corrects” this with all-caps and exclamation points, for example.
Like, if I were to say, “Let the Light guide you home,” and the response might be “_____ IS MY GUIDE!!!!!” While in actuality they are both just words pointing to the same thing. The importance being to go beyond all these words and look to experience what they are pointing to.
