Your beautiful colors cannot be erased, no matter what. No. Matter. What.
And sometimes, we see them more clearly when we break open.
When I posted this last year, someone commented that they didn’t understand “my obsession with breaking.” I write about breaking fairly often because it’s usually when we break that our greatest opportunity for spiritual growth is at hand. As long as things are “good,” we are generally content with the status quo and usually don’t look any deeper. It’s usually only when we are brought to our knees with some challenge that we become motivated and willing to deep dive, and this is where we find real and lasting purpose, joy, and happiness.
Breaking isn’t bad; however much it can feel like crap, it’s often the beginning of real spiritual growth and the opportunity to truly blossom.
I have broken open too many times to count at this point, but there comes a time when it no longer feels like a breakdown but rather an opportunity and a breakthrough. I now break at least a little every day and have come to welcome it.

While I appreciate all your beautiful analogies, this one is especially dear, JaneLee – I believe too many people are afraid of admitting their frailties. To me, being vulnerable is a great strength. Additionally, it seems to me that we all have something which requires a grief process in our lives, if we truly admit it from deep down inside. Thanks so much for your daily words, and the uplifting pictorial messages!

Thank you for this ~ I needed to hear it ~ especially the breaking a little every day ~ sometimes it feels so relentless ~ I don’t always take those deep dives in response ~ but when I do ~ it is so fruitful ~ I wish I was better at taking them alone ~ but I always need a ‘coach’ to go with me …. Still ~ it’s usually huge ~ and freeing ~ til
The next one ~ but you are certainly an inspiration and I think of you always when they occur …. You are indeed a gift
