With Easter, Passover, and spring, I can’t help but think about renewal, fresh starts, and new beginnings today. Newness is singing to us in everything. It always is, and when we are willing to look upon anything with fresh eyes and an open mind, unfettered by past experiences and yesterday’s beliefs, we see it singing to us in and through everything.

I try to look at everything like a little child would. I look as though I’ve never seen them before so that what is there can speak to me rather than me laying all my ideas from the past upon them. This is what it means to “be in the moment.”

The moment is always singing the eternal song of love and joy. It is the light that is always shining. It breaks through all clouds of despair and hopelessness, revealing the love that was always there. It was just waiting to be acknowledged so that we could see it shining its eternal and changeless love upon us. It is here that we see everything new.

I also try to remember that I can always start fresh. Not only each day but every moment if necessary. If I notice that I’ve drifted off track, I can choose to turn in the right direction right now…in this moment. I can do this no matter how far I might have drifted.
