Yesterday is gone. No matter what happened yesterday, it remains yesterday. It doesn’t define us and doesn’t make us what we are. I know it’s commonly said that the past brings us to where we are and to what we are, but there’s a higher way of seeing and living; we can go beyond even this and see that what we are isn’t a culmination of past experiences but that what we are now is what we have always been.
I am not referring to what we appear to be, though. I am referring to the ever-present light that lives in each of us. This light is where we find our Self, and it remains untouched by any clouds of the past. (Just like the clouds don’t make the Sun what it is.) This is something we see with spiritual eyes and not the eyeballs, and it is beautiful beyond comprehension…now and always. We have never been anything else, no matter how it might look now or has ever looked.
The Earth rotates every day, and the Sun seems to disappear from sight and then seems to return, but in reality, it never goes anywhere and never stops shining, however much it might seem to. Just like the Sun, the light within is always shining. We just need to learn how to recognize it.
When we see this, we are in the present; when we see this, we see that it’s everything we’ve always been searching for in all our searching out there and that it’s been inside us all along.
Poster quote:
I believe in the sun even when it isn’t shining…I believe in God even when He is silent.
Thnx for the reminder. I’m still working at bringing myself back.

Did you read my mind? This is so me now. I literally just ended a very abusive relationship last week. My job ended and I’m moving back to the home of my childhood while I build something new out of my life.
Thank you for reminding me that I am a child of light inside…a daughter of God. It’s always been there. Always. It just got buried beneath a terrible burden. I will find her again. Thank you.
