We can be so afraid of the unknown. We sometimes even cling to the most terrible things because we believe it’s still better than the unknown.
So what do we do? Particularly when we see that a big change is on the horizon or something needs to change? If something is unknown, we can’t possibly know what it will look like. So any fear associated with it must be based on past experience projected onto the future. The most helpful thing then is to stay in the present.
Whenever those fears of the future rear their head, calmly observe them, remind yourself that you don’t know what is yet unknown but that you can choose peace here and now, and then gently bring yourself back to the present. The only change that can ever take place is in the present, and being at peace in the present will assuredly bring a future we need not ever fear.
I’ve discovered that when I do this, I am carried in far better ways than any plans I could have made based on what I know from the past. Ways that I never dreamed of because they were unknown to me and ways I would have never discovered had I tried to just repeat the past.
Oh yes they do but then sometimes we float back down to where we were in the beginning❗
