I have been looking for the lessons in a recent experience I had. We spent a few years building something, and much of the time, it was a pretty painful experience. We recently decided to sell it (at a loss) before we were able to use it. One of the lessons I’ve discovered in the experience so far is that if I don’t have a considerable measure of peace and joy on the way, what good is a destination I might not even reach?
This can apply to everything. There will be challenging moments and periods with most everything, but if the joy and peace don’t outweigh the pain, I really need to take a good look at things. I also know that the adjustments need to be done within myself and not outer circumstances. I might have still done this project but with a different outlook.
Hang tough sister! Later in the future when things aren’t so raw you will see it as a great learning experience… but for now hugs and take good care of yourself.

Hi Jane, youre magical! 💫 I’ve been following you for years and you’re an inspiration on so many levels! Totally agree with your post here – the joy of the journey is the real pay-off. Though, as you’ve said in other posts, sometimes a detour from a planned route is an amazing thing and what appear to be painful losses can be gains in all kinds of unexpected ways with some distance and hindsight. Wishing you a 2022 full of joy, laughter and peace. Sam.

Jane 46 years in corporate America taught me to always do a Cost Benefit Analysis before the start of any new project.. that allowed you to see the benefit of the project prior to investing too much time, energy and money into something new. Does it always work – no … But out helps you weigh the value of what you’re considering.
It seems your husband be would have said .. now Jane I don’t think this is going to be worth it. Did he say that too you?

Really Ike, this is very condescending. No, my husband didn’t say that. It was actually my husband that wanted to go full steam ahead and it was me that wanted to slow down. There was no way to foresee the outcome doing a cost/benefit analysis unfortunately unless my crystal ball had revealed a pandemic and other unforeseen situations and changes, but thank you.

Hi there!!
I love your posts, they are adorable, inspiring and encouraging!!
Is there any chance I could hire you to draw a cute spaceship/rocket for me?
I understand if you can’t, but I would love it if you can and I hope you don’t mind that I am asking. I would not want to inconvenience you in any way.
Thank you so much, blessings to you, DeLonna

One misconception about growing is that it must be painful. To grow and evolve, I’ve learned Balance is the key…all things done with balance.
