I’ve been trying to find a free minute to post something since 7:30 this morning! It’s pretty crazy here but it’s so great to see things coming together inch by inch.
Just to give you a little peak into things, as I sit here in my new office there’s a man scraping the film off the windows outside, someone hanging my blue velvet window treatments, and the electrician is installing my television. Prince Pucci is in his pouch around my neck and Prince Pup is lying in his bed next to me on our new tiger print velvet sofa. And that’s just in my office. I’m waiting for the zoo keeper to come in to feed all of us.
I was unsure of what I wanted to post today. In light of what’s going on my end, this one jumped out at me. In our culture we often think we have to have it all together all the time but creating new things is usually messy. Any new birth is messy. Every time I sit down to paint I have to remind myself that creation is a process that goes through some very ugly and awkward stages before any beauty becomes visible. This true in life as much as with anything else. Maybe more so.
Here’s to life’s beautiful, awkward, crazy, and sometimes scary messes. xo

Jane as always your comments and illustrations brighten my day. Plus, you are awesome and encourage me to keep creating my cloth art dolls.

I so get it today. Five days after surgery and the upstairs apartment is getting a remodel bathroom. Which means no sleep for me with all the banging and scraping going on. Such is life.
