   Just the simple things one does to brighten someone’s day, gives me so much pleasure. Being a volunteer for a troubled youth camp & food bank, it is such a joy to help others. I Love to joke with them and see them smile!

   Share a little kindness every day – it brightens someone’s day and enhances your own life. Kindness can be as simple as smiling and saying hello to a stranger, or picking up something that someone has dropped, or like today I offered to take a lady’s trolley back to the trolley bay when she took her toddler out of it to strap them in the car. I gave an elderly man a hug to wish him Merry Christmas, and he held on tight (I know his family live a long way away and he doesn’t get to see them often), I visited a friend’s mother (who has recently gone to into a retirement village and the look that brightened her face when I walked in was priceless). There are so many ways to show kindness – see how many you can do each day. 🙂

   Yesterday I had an experience in the supermarket that touch me!! An elderly man had $1.0 in his hand, but “needed” to buy some wine because he was obviously alcoholic. He was nervous and tearful, uncomfortable with he was going to do, which it seem was to steal the bottle. And just then I said what are you doing? He looked at me really sad, and showed me the dollar and the bottle. Security came and said, mam sorry this is happening we will take over. I said nothing is happening, this is my friend and I am buying him a bottle of wine. Security said, you are not doing him a favor. I said yes I am, he’s not spending Christmas in jail, at least not tonight. The man had tears and shyly said thank you. I took his hand and said merry Christmas and please seek help for your illness!! He smiled very shy and tearful for the first time, and said, I must, I really must! That man was hurting and embarrassed to be an alcoholic…you could tell! I just hope he gets the help he needs!!
