Rise and shine!

We often look around for answers, for a flicker of light—looking here, there, and everywhere. Perhaps it’s time to be the light we are searching for.

The first question that usually comes to mind is, “Well, how the heck do I do that?” The beautiful thing is that we don’t have to know the “how;” we just have to be willing to ask the question. The “how” will show up.

Almost all my Christmas decorations are already down this year. Wow! That’s a first. I finally took the wreath off the door about two weeks ago. I am way ahead of schedule! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

I rarely quote others, but this is one of my favorite quotes. Macrina Weiderkher was a Benedictine monastic of St. Scholastica Monastery.

Most aren’t even aware of this, but we believe that if we look within, we will find the truth about ourselves, which will be too terrible to behold. Furthermore, we often believe that to think this of ourselves is humility and to believe in our beauty is arrogant.

On the contrary, what we actually find when we plunge into the inner depths is (more…)
