I was determined to find something to assuage the pain and emptiness deep within, and I left no stone unturned in this search. I would get an idea of where I could find this ever-elusive happiness, put on my bullhorns, and forge ahead with everything I had.
One day I began to see a pattern: I always started down a new path feeling exhilarated with the hope that this time I might find some sense of fulfillment. Invariably, they all became like sand in my hand at some point, ending in disappointment and despair.
Since they all ended the same way, I decided that rather than set my sights on yet another goal or another path, maybe the best thing to do was nothing.
I didn’t know this was the best decision I would ever make. I had no idea what I was doing, and this was not an easy thing to do by any means. I didn’t know that this single decision would soon lead me to look inward and discover that everything I had been searching for had always been inside me. I had just assumed it was out there somewhere. I discovered hope is justified; I had just been looking in the wrong place.
The solution is never a new this or a different that. It is found in the determination to see the beauty right where we are. Sometimes this isn’t readily apparent, and we must dig pretty deep to find it, but it is always present…right here…right now.
I realized I would never be happy where I was going until I was happy wherever I was at. That happiness is not a future destination but is available every moment if I am determined to let it show itself to me. I discovered it’s not about making something happen but letting what is already present be revealed, albeit perhaps not readily apparent.
This takes practice, willingness, and determination and is seen through an inner, spiritual vision.
Right here. Right now.

That’s exactly right! Great reminder to appreciate each day. Life is so fast paced anymore that we forget to just enjoy life and think of all our blessings 💗
