There is a way to experience a deep sense of calm and inner peace that can’t be shaken. It’s not based on people, circumstances, and conditions being a certain way or anything outside of us.
The first time I felt this, I KNEW it was what I had been searching for in all my searching, and just wanted to know how to have it all the time. It was unlike anything I had ever known before. Words are just too small to describe the experience of true peace. Fast forward, and I will tell you that this quest has not always been easy, but it is worth every bit of effort.
Anything that costs this sense of peace is far too expensive a price to pay. I don’t ever mean that others cause us to lose our peace, though; the key is ALWAYS in our own hands. How I choose to see things and the love I choose to give or withhold determines my peace, not what anyone or anything else ever does or doesn’t do. No matter how it seems, we are not prisoners of people, circumstances, or conditions.
Go within. It’s all there just waiting for you. It has always been calling you and won’t give up until you answer.
(When I use the word “love,” I am never referring to romantic or sentimental love or even the human sense of love.)

so Yes indeed we do not depend on circumstances, people, or events and indeed our peace comes from our inner soul.
