I was so encouraged and inspired by the Golden Globes last night! I have had a deep interest in global plight of women and girls for a very long time and devoted a good part of my education to this cause. I was sexually harassed at almost every job I had and have been paid a fraction of what some of my male contemporaries were getting paid even while doing a better job. I’ve felt the pressure of being valued based on physical appearance and like so many women and girls, have struggled to be heard beyond this.
Our culture’s message to women and girls has been to be a “good girl.” A good girl is sweet, accommodating, she doesn’t create waves, and is best to blend in with the chorus. I haven’t been a “good girl” for many years and I’m so happy to see so many stand up, stand out, and speak about these things that are long overdue. And I’m so very, very overjoyed to see women joining with and supporting other women. xo #metoo #timesup
It’s good to see the princess with a little touch of sass again!!

Dear Princess,
You’re the best! ❤ Thank you for creating the perfect picture and writing the perfect words for today's situation.
My children are amazed when I tell them how one boss I had would come into my office each morning, come behind me, lean down, and plant a smooch on my neck – UGH! Nothing I could do – he was the head of the company. I didn't stay more than 9 months, but that ucky feeling has stayed with me – and this was over 30 years ago. #metoo #timesup
I am so grateful for the women who are standing up and telling their stories and being heard! And you are one of those women ❤ Thank you!

I understand your comments, the same thing happened to me. Ugh, I deal with it every now and then. You give me strength as do other people who comment. I wish I had seen and heard Oprah’s comments. By the way love, love, love your pics and posts. You are an awesome, talented lady.

I am 77 and still fighting for equal pay for women. Yes the old “be a good girl” standard line is ancient! I have always “made waves” and stood for the under paid women in my prior career and therefore forced into early retirement at 59 because of my “mouth”! I sued and won what I was owed and moved on to a part time job where I am appreciated. My husband of 51 years is a staunch supporter of women’s rights so I must say my “soap box” speeches are endorsed by him. Keep up the good fight Jane and we united females will win!

I just had to push away a guy last night. I said something about doggie kisses from a dog. And he’s like Aw you can do better than that. Tried to kiss me & I pushed him away. I told him I wouldn’t roll over for him. And he’s like, I’ll scratch your belly. Barf! No way do I want anything to do with him. He’s an alcoholic. Yuck!

Yes that ‘good girl’ crap has been such a hard pill to swallow and one I have fought against which is why I was harassed and underpaid etc etc….#metoo #timesup And I watch and counsel my 5 nieces against it too. It is so hopeful to see the tide finally turning and the truth being revealed on a global scale….no longer hidden or covered up. Jumping for joy!

I am soooo with you Donna! I have felt so alone in this for so long–talking until my throat hurts feeling like nobody is listening. I really had doubts that I would ever see this in my lifetime. I am skipping inside today! xo
