We sometimes miss the little things in life until something happens to slow us down. It’s late here and I’m taking notice of a few things that fill my heart with gratitude–some little and some profoundly big: Knowing my dear husband is again sleeping soundly at home after being in the hospital these last three weeks; the sweet smile on his face before he settled in for the night; and the sound of my sleeping puppy curled up next me. There really are so many things to be grateful for and tomorrow I am going to take more notice. Join me?

Thats a pretty scary place to be in, but at least he’s home and your home and the dog is good and life has this beautiful moment to shine for you.

Yes thank you! My husband was in the hospital recently and it’s so nice to have him home with our two dogs and our daughter’s cat and me. So grateful for God,’s provision and healing. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for sharing this sentiment. I’m grateful everyday that I have my husband. He is dealing with his 3rd cancer (his original cancer was colon cancer, it mastesized into liver cancer, and now lung cancer … the 2nd & 3rd cancers are from the colon cancer. It just keeps popping up in different other body parts). He has chemo every 2 weeks and is sick, but I still have him!
I’m also grateful for our life together, our home, our dogs, our families, and life in general. Every day I wake up is an enormous gift not to be wasted. Life is extremely short, and passes so quickly. Life is a precious gift, meant to be shared, loved and cherished.

Gratitude is the best attitude. I am grateful that your husband is now home, and you and Prince Pup can have your family reunited. I send Angels to you and yours to walk beside you; guide and protect you. May a bubble of love; light; health; and, divine protection travel with you; your husband; and, Prince Pup.

Thank you for your many shares throughout the weeks! I become deeply content and downright happy over “events” and “enjoyments” that many of my acquaintances and friends overlook. They think I’m kooky, which I likely am, but I love feeling the happiness at night when going to bed, the pleasure of looking out my window and seeing Nature’s beauty, of appreciating art in its many forms, of reading both serious and fun books, of using my hands, bringing a smile to someone’s face, greeting strangers with a sweet comment, being able to clean my home (because I HAVE a roof over my head), and so forth. Oh! By the way, I am home-bound due to disabilities – and feel great contentment most of the time, even though my life is radically changed from what I ever thought it would be. It is writers like you who open up, and reveal the truth of Contentment, that have helped me most over the past few decades. SO THANK YOU!
